Abstract: These snippets of ancient wisdom are intended to offer an overview of major themes, methods, and contributions to knowledge in the areas of metaphysics, piety, ethics, knowledge and time. The masters like Thales, Anaximenes, Socrates, Plato, Aristotle, Epicurus, and Augustine taught about these issues and here is a snapshot of their views.

Ucenicie | EticăSetea după stăpânire vine din voința eului care nu are stăpân pe Domnul înviat din morți. Când voința eului nu este coordonată de credință, omul va căuta libertatea fără margini și puterea. Necazul lui este că nici una dintre acestea nu vor fi vreodată îndeajuns, iar o parte dintre ceilalți nu vor sta să fie luați în stăpânire de el. Aceasta duce la conflicte, pierderi și singurătate.

Conf 11.13.15); there is no ‘then’ where there is no time. God is understood to exist in an ‘ever-present eternity’ (
Conf 11.13.16; Russell, 2009) beyond time where his ‘today’ is eternity. To underlay the beginning of time and the distinction from eternity Augustine says that ’there was never a time when there was no time’ (
Conf 11.13.16). In other words God is not coeternal with time (
Conf 11.13.17).

Ucenicie | TeologieIn materialul care urmeaza intentionez sa descriu succint una dintre problemele bisericii crestine din alt veac, modalitatile lor de atunci si ulterioare de a aborda situatii oarecum asemanatoare cu cele din perioada noastra. Niciodata situatiile nu sunt similare, dar lectiile istoriei nu trebuie ignorate, ci cercetate cu atentie pentru a face fata cat mai bine problemelor pe care ni le rezerva fiecaruia viata. Cercetarea acestei perioade este dificila pentru ca nici una dintre scrierile donatistilor nu s-a pastrat. Ceea ce stim este din scrierile adversarilor lor, in special Optatus si Augustin.

Luther foloseste termenul consubstantiere pe care il explica folosind asemanarea cu fierul inrosit: ca in fierul inrosit in care sunt prezente si fierul si focul, tot asa painea si vinul, si trupul si sangele lui Cristos sunt prezente in elementele Cinei.
Punctul de pornire al criticii lui este dat de binecuvantarile aduse de Cina Domnului in vietile crestinilor. 'Noi primim ceea ce spune Cuvantul.
