Abstract
In this critical note on Badiou's interpretation of St. Paul I will argue that Badiou's attempt of using the structure of Paul's message as the structure of an argument against the present state of the world is without chance of succeeding. For Paul, the truth is the truth of the gospel, and if it is to work, it has to be christological. If God's work is not salvific in the sending of his Son, then the famous structure of subject-truth-universality crumbles down. For Paul, the truth of the gospel is redemptive, and without this basic element universality cannot be achieved.
Keywords: apostle Paul, Alain Badiou, truth, subject, universality, redemption

După virtute și moralitate

SABOU, Sorin. 'După virtute și moralitate.' Jurnal teologic Vol 15, Nr 2 (2016): 69-108.
Abstract în limba română
Abstract in English
The purpose of this article is to analyze MacIntyre’s solution to the problem of modern morality; it is a critical evaluation of MacIntyre’s Aristotelianism. The thesis of the project is that MacIntyre’s Aristotelian ethics in After Virtue is conceived in such a way that it does not land in a very different place than that of his emotivist partners in the debate. Aristotle’s ethics has a metaphysical grounding in that the Unmoved Mover, as the external main factor in the world around us, is the ultimate good and aim of the whole universe and the human race. If the human good is understood only in terms of practice, narrative unity, and tradition, the backbone of Aristotle’s ethics is dismantled in such a way that it will not lead to the solution MacIntyre claims.

The Bible Between the Lecturing Desk and the Pulpit: the Responsibility of the Church in the New Social and Academic Context
This essay is an inquiry in which I explore the relationship between the secular society, the secular university, the Church and the Bible. The thesis of this paper is that the presuppositions and practice of modernity and postmodernity have eliminated the Bible as a source of knowledge in the university and society, and the Church has the responsibility to provide better hermeneutical tools for making the Bible intelligible and, hopefully, more accepted again as a source of knowledge.
Keywords: secular society, secular university, Church, Bible, knowledge, creation, darwinism
